    Virginia / The India-United States partnership will serve as an engine for sustainable and inclusive global growth, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Wednesday.

    Speaking at the ‘Skilling for Future’ event at the National Science Foundation, PM Modi emphasized the need to nurture the talent pool to sustain the growth momentum between the two countries.

    “For India and the US to maintain their growth momentum, they need a pool of talent. On the one hand, the US has top educational institutions and advanced technology. On the other hand, India has the largest youth factory in the world. 

    Therefore, I believe that the Indo-US partnership will prove to be an engine of sustainable and inclusive global growth,” PM Modi from the National Science Foundation in Alexandria, Virginia, USA.

    Earlier on Wednesday, Prime Minister Modi arrived in Washington DC and was given a ceremonial welcome as well as a guard of honor at the airbase. PM Modi will later attend a state dinner hosted by US President Joe Biden and the First Lady.

    Accompanied by First Lady Jill Biden, PM Modi visited the National Science Foundation in Alexandria, Virginia, where he met students from both countries who are acquiring skills important to them to succeed in vital sectors of their respective economies.

    Highlighting the initiatives taken by the Government of India to ensure a bright future for students such as the implementation of the new education policy and the integration of education and skills.

    Talking about the work done by the Government of India for the bright future of the students, PM Modi said that they have brought a new education policy and integrated education and skills.

    Under Skill India, India has over “15 billion people” skilled in artificial intelligence, blockchain, drones, and more.

    He also said that in schools, the Government of India has set up 10,000 Atal Tinkering Labs where children are provided with devices to engage in innovation.

    PM Modi invited American students to come to India and said that hundreds of teachers from the United States are already in India participating in the technology partnership.

    PM Modi proposed the idea of ​​an India-US teacher exchange program and said, “We can consider starting an India-US teacher exchange program. To increase the engagement of scientists and entrepreneurs from around the world with Indian institutions, we established GIAN – Global Initiative of Academic Networks – in 2015. I am pleased to tell you that 750 US faculty members have come to India under this initiative.”

    “I think both countries should jointly organize hackathons on various topics. This can offer solutions to several current problems as well as new ideas for the future,” he added.
